Medellín Terminals has launched an ambitious ‘Anticolados’ project in the taxi collection at the North Terminal.
The initiative seeks to transform the experience of the thousands of travelers who arrive daily in the capital of Antioquia, offering them a safer, more comfortable and rigorously organized transfer.
This public order and mobility plan is the result of an inter-institutional and private working group that includes the Medellín Terminal Management, the Mobility Secretariat, the Fenalco association, the Terminal del Norte Shopping Center and a select group of six taxi companies in the city, including Cootransmede, Tax Super and Tax Belén.
The core of this pilot lies in the implementation of personnel dedicated exclusively to vehicle orientation and assignment.
These personnel, arranged by the transport companies themselves, will operate in the boarding area from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm, covering the bulk of the passenger flow.
The main novelty, and key security measure, is the data recording that will be carried out for each service. This detailed traceability will allow the exact vehicle to be assigned to the user, improving safety and addressing informal transport services.

The Deputy Manager of Terminal Operations of Medellín, Luis Fernando Vélez, highlighted the importance of joint work: “We are very optimistic about the implementation of this plan, which is a coordinated response with the private sector. It is an effective way to bring our essential message to users: always travel in legal and certified transportation that operates from our facilities.”
Additionally, the Medellín Mobility Secretariat will assign pedagogy teams to the collection point. Their task will be to socialize with citizens the benefits of this new boarding model and the appropriate use of spaces, strengthening the culture of legality in individual public transportation.
Although the operation of the service and its guarantee fall exclusively on the drivers and authorized companies, the institutional articulation ensures that the North Terminal is a safe and orderly space to begin or end any journey.
