The Taekwondo Talent School successfully completed its second day of comprehensive training this Tuesday, November 11.

The School brought together 119 athletes from 11 departments at the Sports Palace in Bogotá.

This project is an initiative of the Ministry of Sports, with the support of the Colombian Olympic Committee (COC) and the Colombian Taekwondo Federation.

During the first days of the national meeting, the young talents participated in eight spaces for technical-tactical foundation and physical preparation.

Crucial topics covered included how to do a good warm-up, the rules of discipline and combat school.

The training sessions were vital, providing athletes with tools to prevent injuries, improve performance and optimize exercise efficiency.

Aspects such as reaction speed, attacks, and counterattacks with the back and front legs are fundamental pillars that are polished during training.

This knowledge, applied with tactics, allows athletes to use the environment to their advantage in competition.

The training spaces are guided by experts from the Colombian Taekwondo Federation, who also focus on consolidating camaraderie.

The School was accompanied by athletes from the Colombian National Team, such as world medalist Andrea Ramírez, Daniel Ramírez and Danna Ramírez, as well as the president of the Federation, Cito René Forero.

The activity will continue this Wednesday, November 12, with the third day, which will include tactical foundation training and nutrition workshops for athletes and regulations for coaches, led by international judge Johanna Palacio.

Next Thursday, attendees will have a combat activity with clothing and monitoring through an electronic system, which will allow them to apply what they have learned in a scenario very close to reality, according to Juan Carlos Pinilla, methodologist of the COC School of Talents program.
