The mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez, reported through X that a Peruvian citizen was denied admission when trying to enter the city for alleged purposes of sexual tourism.
The alert was activated thanks to the Angel Watch system, an international prevention mechanism that identifies people who could represent a risk to minors.
According to the president, the articulated work of Migration Colombia made it possible to detect the case in time and prevent the entry of the foreigner, who presented an active notification for behaviors associated with sexual exploitation. The immigration authorities proceeded to return him to his country of origin.

With this fact, there are now 65 foreign citizens inadmissible for attempting to violate the security, integrity and tranquility of Medellín.
The authorities assure that these actions are part of a border control strategy that seeks to prevent individuals with international records or alerts from reaching the territory with criminal intentions.
Mayor Gutiérrez reiterated that the city does not tolerate sexual tourism, child exploitation or any conduct that violates human dignity. In addition, he emphasized that Medellín has a comprehensive protection policy for children and adolescents, which is why it will continue to strengthen immigration filters and cooperation with international entities.
