The mayor of Medellín declared a partial victory this Friday, January 30, by announcing that, thanks to the uninterrupted work of the mayor’s crews, mobility was recovered in the Patio Bonito and Euskadi sectors.
These areas had remained blocked since last Wednesday afternoon, when heavy rains caused flooding and sediment washout that paralyzed the south of the city.
“We don’t stop. We continue working on the other affected points,” the local president assured through his social networks.
Despite these advances, the Mobility Secretariat warns that total normality has not yet returned in El Poblado. At this time, a partial closure of one lane is maintained on the road to Poda with Carrera 10 due to repair work on the road.
The authorities recommend that private mobility and public service drivers take alternate routes to avoid major congestion.

The situation is especially delicate on the Transversal Superior with 10E Street, where a landslide was recorded that keeps the passage restricted. On the other hand, 11th Street, at the entrance to the Monterrey roundabout (east-west direction), remains completely closed while cleaning workers finish removing the mud and debris left by the overflow of nearby streams.
From the mobility control center, citizens are called to heed the instructions of the personnel on the road, who are deployed at critical points to speed up vehicle flow.

Although the main connection points are being rehabilitated, the instability of some slopes and deep cleaning work force preventive closures to be maintained.
Thanks to the tireless work of our team, we managed to enable the roads in the Patio Bonito and Euskadi sectors, which were closed due to heavy rains on Wednesday afternoon.
