The Department of Sports and Recreation of Cali is pleased to inform you of the following, regarding the rental of 34 boxes at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium.
The official delivery of the boxes at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium took place in two phases. First, at the end of 2022, 42 office boxes will be opened in the Oriental grandstand for commercial rental by companies related to sports and recreation. Subsequently, in April 2023, some adjustments were put into service with the aim of promoting business use for events and professional football.
Since their delivery and for almost three years, the boxes have not received additional interventions from the administration, which is why several of these spaces have deficiencies in their infrastructure, such as the absence of doors, floors and functioning bathrooms.
In this context, the current administration has taken steps so that, through an economic use contract, the boxes can be intervened and adapted, so that they meet optimal conditions of use and generate benefits for the community and for the sports scene.

It is important to specify that these are investments made within the framework of a legal figure of economic use, whose purpose is the adaptation and improvement of the boxes.
Since its delivery, only 7 of the 42 boxes have been rented. On the contrary, the remaining 35 boxes are in conditions that do not allow their use, enjoyment and enjoyment, since they do not have doors, floors, sanitary batteries, among others.

For this reason, the administration evaluated an investment proposal received for the recovery and entry into operation of the boxes.
Likewise, it should be noted that the Universidad del Valle receives twenty percent (20%) of the value of each rental made, in accordance with the provisions of current regulations.
In this sense, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation received a proposal in which the bidder assumes responsibility for the comprehensive adaptation of the boxes, in exchange for their economic use. The contract signed with the Manos Unidas 360 Foundation, for a value of $3,826,445,418, corresponds to an investment aimed directly at the intervention and improvement of these spaces, under a legal figure that represents a benefit for the sports scene and for the city, without compromising public resources destined for infrastructure.
The Secretariat of Sports and Recreation of Santiago de Cali reaffirms its commitment to the correct administration, conservation and optimization of the district’s sports venues, guaranteeing their responsible use and for the benefit of citizens.
