Paisas Basketball has taken the first step towards the Colombian Professional Basketball title by forcefully beating Cimarrones del Chocó in the opening game of the grand final.

Before their audience at the Iván de Bedout Coliseum, the Antioquia team demonstrated undeniable superiority, closing the score with a large 85–61.

This victory allows the corn team to take a valuable 1-0 lead in the series that defines the national champion.

Paisas’ victory was based on dominance from the first minutes, evident in some sets that reflected its solidity on the court: 19-9 and 31-14 in the first two fractions.

Although Cimarrones showed resistance in the second half (19-22 and 16-16), the large initial advantage carved out by the locals was impossible to overcome.

The key to Paisa’s success lay in their collective play and the strategy proposed by coach Daniel Seoane, confirming teamwork and the constant circulation of the ball as the essence of the team.

On an individual level, the undisputed figure of commitment was Ty-Shon Alexander. The shooting guard emerged as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game, leading the Paisa offense with a brilliant performance that included 19 points.

Alexander became the spearhead of the attack in crucial moments, channeling the collective effort to secure the victory at home and making it clear that the coaching staff’s strategy was executed to perfection, starting from the unity of the dressing room.

With their sights set on expanding their lead and making the most of their home status, Paisas Basketball prepares for the second match of the series.

This crucial match will be played again at the Iván de Bedout Coliseum today, December 5, at 7:00 pm

A victory in this second match would place the Antioquia team just one step away from being crowned champion, consolidating its dominance in this double initial date of the Grand Final of Colombian Professional Basketball.
