Independiente Santa Fe has announced Pablo Repetto as its new technical director, who will take the reins of the team once the BetPlay II-2025 League ends.

The capital club, which recently confirmed its elimination from the League, is betting on the Uruguayan strategist to lead the sports project from 2026 and restructure the squad with a view to next season.

Repetto, with recent experience in Colombian soccer after directing Atlético Nacional during the 2024 season, prevailed in the list of candidates by beating Venezuelan César Farías, who until recently was the main option.

The arrival of the Uruguayan has generated a more favorable environment among the fans, unlike the massive rejection that occurred on social networks regarding the possible hiring of Farías.

Pablo Repetto is now the coach of Independiente Santa Fe

The ‘León Capitalino’ was being directed on an interim basis by Francisco ‘Pacho’ López, who managed to get the team into the semi-final home runs and kept the illusion of the final alive.

However, with the elimination already completed, the board was quick to confirm Repetto, who fits the desired profile for the technical direction.

The Uruguayan coach takes on the great challenge of Independiente Santa Fe after its elimination, and will have the mission of building a solid project that returns the team to the forefront of Colombian football and to the dispute for titles in 2026.

The fans hope that Repetto can inject a new dynamic and style of play into the squad.
