The Mayor’s Office of Medellín, through the Buen Comienzo program, announced the extension of the deadline for enrollment of girls and boys in early childhood. With the aim that no family is left without access to comprehensive care, protective environments and adequate nutrition, the program’s kindergartens and children’s centers will keep registration open until December 17.

The call is aimed at all minors between 0 and 5 years of age. The program has simplified the registration process so that it is accessible and timely, responding to the needs of both children and pregnant and lactating women.

Guaranteed food and how to register

One of the main benefits of the Buen Comienzo institutional modality is the guarantee of food. The program ensures up to 80% of the food for enrolled minors. Additionally, it offers key support for families during non-school periods, such as weekends, holidays and recess days, delivering food and educational kits, among other essential benefits.

The registration process is continuous and simple, without requiring prerequisites, which facilitates access to the most vulnerable population. Parents, caregivers or guardians have several options to enroll:
