In a new blow to organized crime in Bogotá, the authorities captured alias ‘Luis Maracucho’, the alleged ringleader of the ‘Aragua Train’ in the town of Chapinero. According to the investigation, the person involved would have assumed the leadership of this criminal structure after the capture of alias ‘Jhonatican’.
By court order, ‘Luis Maracucho’ was arrested for his alleged participation in the distribution of narcotics, including marijuana, coca base and 2CB, in strategic sectors of the town, such as Los Hippies Park. In addition, he would be involved in extortion of commercial establishments and linked to two homicides that occurred in February and August in the Villa del Cerro and Pardo Rubio neighborhoods.

The commander of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, General Giovanni Cristancho, explained that the alleged ringleader would have coordinated the sale of drugs using home fronts on a motorcycle to transport narcotics and avoid being detected by the authorities. During the operation, ‘Luis Maracucho’ tried to evade capture by presenting false documentation, without success.

After his arrest, a judge of the Republic imposed a security measure on him in a prison facility for the crimes of aggravated homicide, drug trafficking, trafficking and carrying of firearms, and conspiracy to commit a crime for extortion purposes.
