An advance control operation in courier warehouses in the capital made it possible to thwart the shipment of a shipment of cocaine that was intended to leave the country bound for the European continent. The seizure was achieved thanks to the alert issued by two anti-narcotics canines during routine inspection work.
The procedure was developed when the trained dogs, identified as Rocco and Lastra, reviewed different parcels that had recently arrived in the city. During the inspection, both animals reacted in an unusual way to one of the packages, which led the uniformed officers to carry out a detailed check of the contents.
Upon opening the parcel, the authorities found a multicolored sculpture made of wood that hid inside a total of 3,200 grams of cocaine hydrochloride. The substance was carefully camouflaged to evade controls, however, it was detected thanks to the specialized work of canines.

Subsequent investigations made it possible to establish that the package had been dispatched from the city of Pasto and had the city of Valladolid, in Spain, as its final destination.
