The United States Government confirmed this Monday a US bombing against two vessels that, according to the Department of Defense, were transporting narcotics and were operated by alleged narcoterrorists linked to the Aragua Train cartel, coming from Venezuela.
The attacks occurred in international waters in the eastern Pacific and left six dead, according to Pentagon official Pete Hegseth.
“No members of US forces were injured. Under President Donald Trump, we are protecting the homeland and eliminating cartel terrorists who seek to harm our country and our people”declared Hegseth after confirming the operation.

The US bombing was authorized against the vessels after their passage through a transit route known for drug trafficking in the region was detected. Each ship had three people on board, all of whom died during the military operation. According to official reports, the attack would be part of a series of anti-drug operations deployed in the Caribbean and the Pacific.
However, the UN condemned the military action and assured that “there is no legal justification” for the bombings, which have extended to international waters. The organization called for a “rapid, independent and transparent” investigation to establish possible violations of international law and determine responsibilities.
