A 32-year-old man, identified as Elkin Santiago, lost his life near the Marly TransMilenio station, in Bogotá, on the night of October 31. The events have generated commotion among the users of the system and the authorities, who are carrying out the investigation to clarify what happened.

According to preliminary information, Elkin was waiting for public transportation with his wife when, for reasons that are still unknown, he left the station and returned minutes later.

Upon entering again, the man collapsed in the arms of his partner, who, while trying to help him, discovered a wound in the chest caused by a sharp weapon.

Despite efforts to help him, the man died immediately at the scene. Several witnesses recounted the woman’s anguish and the speed with which the events unfolded, which has raised questions about the circumstances that led to the attack.

The Prosecutor’s Office, through the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), took on the case in order to identify those responsible and determine the cause of the homicide. So far it has not been confirmed whether it was a robbery, a fight or a direct attack.

This fact adds to a series of violent episodes recorded in the capital during the Halloween celebration.
