Minute30.com .- While the world observes the judicial process against Nicolás Maduro, the human balance of the military intervention in Caracas begins to show painful figures.
Among the fatalities registered after the bombings on January 3, it was confirmed that one of them is a civilian, she is Yohana Rodríguez Sierra, a 45-year-old merchant originally from Cartagena, Colombia.
Yohana lost her life in her home located in the El Hatillo municipality, south of the Venezuelan capital, in the vicinity of the “El Volcán” mountain, an area where there are transmission antennas that were the target of the air attacks.
“My mother is already dead”: Her daughter’s dramatic story
The tragedy became known thanks to the communication of Ana Corina Morales Sierra, 22 years old and daughter of the victim, who managed to contact her relatives in the department of Bolívar in the midst of the chaos.
“They are attacking us, my mother is already dead,” were the heartbreaking words of the young woman, who was injured in the leg by the explosive wave and remains under medical observation.
Balance of victims: Military youth decimated
Although the Venezuelan authorities maintain official silence, reports from local media and the Network of Doctors in Venezuela indicate that the majority of the deceased (15 in total) belonged to the Presidential Security Battalion number 6.
The list of military victims reveals that they were very young personnel, including students from the Military Academy and honor guards:
Fuerte Tiuna: Troops such as Lieutenant Yendis Barreto and Sergeants Anaís Molina and Alejandra Oliveros died there.
Children of officials: The death of Lenín Osorio Ramírez, son of the president of the Autonomous Institute of Children’s Human Rights (Idenna), was confirmed.
Other sources: Casualties are reported at the Militia Command (near the Mountain Barracks), the Óscar Machado Zuloaga Airport and radar stations.
Collapsed hospitals
The health system in Caracas is on maximum alert. Until the latest report from the Doctors Network:
Of the 90 injured have entered hospitals in the Capital District, 60 injured were transferred to the Dr. Carlos Arvelo Military Hospital and 30 more injured remain in the “Hospitalito” of Fuerte Tiuna.
The medical association warns that the death toll could increase drastically in the coming hours, since there are bodies that have not yet been counted among the rubble of the bombed buildings.
