Minute30.com .- What began as an undercover operation in the north of the Aburrá Valley ended in a cinematic chase. On Wednesday afternoon, agents from GAULA and the CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office deployed an operation in the Playa Rica neighborhood, in Bello, to capture an alleged extortionist in flagrante delicto.
The authorities used a “decoy” to make a controlled delivery of money, and thus attract the suspect. However, upon being surrounded, the situation quickly escalated into a confrontation.
Escape, shooting and chase
At the time of the interception, the criminal did not surrender, and on the contrary accelerated his vehicle and tried to run over the CTI agents to make his way.
Faced with the imminent threat, the uniformed officers reacted with their weapons, shooting at the tires and body of the suspect’s car.
After escaping from the initial site, a lock plan was activated that allowed the individual to be intercepted and captured minutes later in the Castilla neighborhood, in Commune 5 of Medellín.
Fortunately, the official report confirms that no people were injured during the exchange of gunfire or the chase.

Outrage: released 15 days ago by a judge
The news has generated strong rejection from the judicial authorities, as it was confirmed that the person captured today is a recent repeat offender:
On December 22, the same man had been captured in Bello for the crime of illegal possession of firearms.
Despite the seriousness of that first charge, he was released days later, which allowed him to commit another crime on January 7.
The captured man now faces charges of aggravated extortion and violence against a public servant. It is expected that with this new record, a guarantee control judge will issue a security measure in prison.
