Within the framework of the decorations ceremony for the 134 years of the National Police (11/20/2025), the mayor of Cali, Alejandro Eder, delivered a new batch of vehicles to improve the operational capabilities of the Metropolitan Police in preventing crimes and behaviors contrary to coexistence.
There are nine pick-up trucks and 74 motorcycles intended to mobilize the uniformed personnel in attention, investigation and effective response to citizen requirements.
Likewise, they will facilitate their intervention for surveillance and control tasks on the routes, stations, terminals and trunks of the MIO mass transportation system, which mobilizes thousands of citizens every day.
Jairo GarcĂa Guerrero, Secretary of Security and Justice of Cali, highlighted that the District Administration is not only concerned with increasing and updating specialized equipment, vehicles and other tools of the Public Force; It also strives to dignify their working conditions, carrying out local interventions in Police stations and substations and providing benefits to uniformed personnel and their families.
“We continue to strengthen the capabilities of the Police, as Mayor Alejandro Eder has requested from day one. Today we are delivering new motorcycles and vehicles to improve reaction, surveillance and control capabilities, with an investment close to 6,500 million pesos,” said the secretary.
General Henry Bello, commander of the Metropolitan Police, said that with this new fleet, logistical capabilities are strengthened, response times are improved and better service is offered to citizens.

The amount of the investment for the purchase of the nine trucks amounts to 2,288 million pesos.
To acquire the 74 motorcycles, 4,151 million pesos were allocated.
The vehicles have SOAT valid for one year and accessories such as strobe lights, public address system, lamp to illuminate the scene and helmets.
