The Ministry of Labor of Colombia confirmed the beginning of an administrative sanctioning investigation against the Club Deportivo Pereira.
This, for the alleged failure to comply with a previous precautionary measure that ordered the suspension of activities.
The legal action adds to the already known debts accumulated by the club, which include back salaries and social security contributions of its workers.
The Territorial Directorate of Risaralda, under the direction of Andrés Piedrahita Gutiérrez, made the start of the process official.
The territorial director pointed out that disobedience to the ministerial order is the most serious charge at this time.
“Despite the administrative order that imposed the suspension measure, the Pereira Sports Club is not complying with the order issued on October 30.”
For this reason, it was indicated, they will immediately begin the administrative sanctioning investigation and file the respective charges, stated Piedrahita Gutiérrez.
The labor portfolio has confirmed that the team “scheduled, and would even be carrying out, training.”

In the opinion of the Inspector who analyzes the situation, what was done by the great Matecaña is an open challenge to the prohibition of carrying out any type of activity.
The charges formulated in the investigation are directly related to previous complaints, confirmed at the time by the Minister of Labor, Antonio Sanguino.
These include non-timely payment of salaries, non-payment of social security contributions and non-payment of Sunday and holiday surcharges to workers.
Official sources from the Ministry recalled that the preventive measure of suspension of work for club employees will remain in force until full payment of labor debts is verified and certified.
Additionally, it was required that, during the development of the investigation, the Pereira Sports Club maintain the employment relationship of all of its workers, regardless of their type of contract, and continue paying salaries without any type of discount.
