The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Rafael De La Cruz, alias ‘Luxury’, and Jaime Llerena, alias ‘El Gordo’, accused of participating in a criminal structure that would have modified refrigerated containers to camouflage cocaine and send it from the port of Barranquilla to Spain and the Netherlands.
According to the investigations, the containers were removed from the port perimeter and transferred to a nearby warehouse, where coves were adapted to hide the cocaine hydrochloride. They were then returned to the maritime terminal to coordinate their departure to Europe.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged the two men with the crime of aggravated trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics. A judge ordered a security measure in a prison, although the defendants did not accept the charges.
