In an operation carried out in the port of Cartagena, the authorities managed to seize 1,052 kilos of cocaine, hidden inside machinery that had left from Bogotá and whose final destination was the city of Milan, Italy.

Initial investigations indicate that the shipment would be linked to the so-called ‘Gulf Clan’, one of the most active criminal organizations in the country. According to experts, the seized drug would have a value of approximately 57 million euros on the international market and would have allowed the circulation of nearly 2.6 million doses.

This coup represents a significant impact on the finances of the criminal structure, blocking a large-scale shipment and weakening its drug trafficking network. The authorities stressed that they will continue to strengthen control and judicialization operations to dismantle each link of these illicit networks.

With this operation, the authorities seek to stop drug trafficking and guarantee that drug export routes are intercepted before leaving the country.
