A judge of the Republic handed down an exemplary sentence against Prado Cabezas, a man who spread terror among women between 20 and 40 years old in Valle del Cauca.

His modus operandi was as calculated as it was perverse: he contacted his victims through applications and social networks, or offered them motorcycle transportation services, and then tricked them into depopulated areas of Cali, Palmira, Candelaria and Jamundí. There, far from any help, he beat, robbed and sexually subdued them amidst death threats.

The investigation, led by a specialized prosecutor from Cali, revealed that the level of evil of this subject had no limits. Not only did he abuse the women, but in several cases he kept them detained for hours, demanding absurd ransoms ranging from $3 million to $3,000 million pesos from their families.

The final blow for his defense came from the Forensic Medicine laboratories: DNA tests showed a 99.99% match between Prado Cabezas’ genetic profile and the samples found in the victims, irrefutable scientific proof of his guilt.

Due to these facts, the man sentenced today was found responsible for the crimes of kidnapping for ransom, violent carnal access, qualified theft and extortion, all in aggravated form. He was sentenced to 57 years and 2 months in prison.

In addition to the prison sentence, the judge imposed a fine of 43,999 minimum wages, one of the highest recorded for this type of crimes in the region. The subject, who had been captured at the end of 2022 in the Laureano Gómez neighborhood of Cali, must pay his sentence behind the bars of a prison establishment.
