A police operation carried out in the Bellavista neighborhood, in the town of Kennedy, allowed the capture of a man accused of one of the most serious crimes recorded in the region in recent years.
The arrest occurred thanks to information provided by citizens, who warned about the presence of a subject with suspicious behavior in this sector of western Bogotá.
According to the Metropolitan Police, uniformed officers assigned to the Kennedy Station responded to the call and moved to the indicated area.
When approaching the individual in Bellavista, the agents noticed an evasive attitude, so they proceeded to verify his identity and judicial record. During the procedure, it was confirmed that the 28-year-old man had a current arrest warrant for the crime of aggravated homicide.

According to the authorities, the captured person would be linked to a triple homicide that occurred in April 2022 in a municipality in the province of Tequendama, where two elderly people and a minor died.

The case generated great impact at the time due to the seriousness of the events and the circumstances in which the attack occurred.
Investigations indicate that the man detained today had been apprehended days after the crime and remained deprived of his liberty for a time. However, in 2024 he regained his freedom after a ruling due to the expiration of terms, although he continued to be linked to the criminal process. Months later, a judge of the Republic issued a new arrest warrant for the execution of the sentence, which became effective during this recent police operation.
The Police confirmed that the procedure took place without confrontations and that the captured person was left at the disposal of the competent judicial authority to advance with the corresponding procedures.
