The Colombian athlete Juana Rueda reaffirmed her dominance in continental sports shooting by winning the gold medal and retaining her title in the individual Air Pistol event within the framework of the Ayacucho – Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games.

With an exciting performance at the Las Palmas Shooting Range, Rueda was crowned two-time Bolivarian champion, repeating the feat achieved in Valledupar 2022.

The day began early with the qualification round, where the Colombian placed second with a score of 564 after six rounds of shooting, securing her place among the top eight.

The final was a highly demanding event with progressive elimination. Rueda showed mettle and precision, achieving a score of 236.9.

The definition was very close, as the coffee maker surpassed the Peruvian Liz Carrión (232.7) in the final shot, who took the silver. Also local Deysi Jilapa completed the podium with the bronze (210.6).

“It was a very hard-fought medal, a very hard-worked medal. Here is the summary of the work of the entire year,” said Juana Rueda after her victory.
