A guarantee control judge ordered the sending to prison of Yeiner Alejandro, known under the alias ‘Mandíbula’, and Mateo, alias ‘Aretes’, identified as those allegedly responsible for systematically attacking a well-known supermarket chain in the Aburrá Valley.
The investigation, led by a prosecutor from the Support Structure (EDA), revealed that these subjects wreaked chaos between July 2024 and November 2025 in various commercial premises strategically located in Medellín and Bello.
In total, it is estimated that alias ‘Mandíbula’ and alias ‘Aretes’ managed to seize a figure that exceeds $32 million pesos.
The criminal trail of these individuals is extensive: the Prosecutor’s Office managed to demonstrate that ‘Mandíbula’ had actively participated in 20 thefts, while ‘Aretes’ was present in at least 8 events.
Their way of operating consisted of entering establishments pretending to be ordinary customers with the supposed intention of purchasing a product. However, upon reaching the payment point, they pulled out firearms to threaten the employees and force them to hand over all the money in the cash registers.

In other cases, while some of their accomplices carried out the robbery, they waited on motorcycles outside the premises to ensure a quick escape.
After being captured, both subjects were charged with the crime of qualified and aggravated robbery.
During the concentrated hearings, alias ‘Mandíbula’ decided to no longer evade his responsibility and accepted the charges formulated by the investigating entity. For his part, the judge considered that the dangerousness and frequency with which they acted represented an imminent risk to citizen security and the stability of businesses in the region, which is why he decided to detain them in a prison while the judicial process progresses.
