Minute30.com .- The Government of Israel joined the voices of international support after the capture of Nicolás Maduro and the military operation carried out by the United States on January 3, 2026. Through its Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gideon Sa’ar, the Jewish State congratulated the operation and described President Donald Trump as the “leader of the free world.”
In an official statement, Foreign Minister Sa’ar expressed his nation’s solidarity with the Venezuelan people, highlighting that this action marks the end of what they consider an “illegal tyranny.”
The end of the “axis of terrorism and drugs”
For the Israeli government, the removal of Maduro is not only a political triumph, but a strategic blow against global organized crime. According to Sa’ar, the captured president led a “drug and terrorism network” that affected the stability of the region.
“At this historic moment, Israel stands with the freedom-loving Venezuelan people. South America deserves a future free from the axis of terrorism and drugs,” said the head of Israeli diplomacy.
Hope for the restoration of relationships
Historically, relations between Israel and Venezuela have been broken since the era of Hugo Chávez (2009). With this new panorama, Israel expressed its hope that democracy will soon return to Caracas and that both states can reestablish friendly relations.
