Minute30.com .- Erika Vanessa Echeverry, the young woman who fell from the Mother Laura Bridge on October 2 in a tragic accident, broke her silence this Monday, November 3, to deny rumors about her condition: She has not died.
Despite the severity of her injuries, the 19-year-old girl is hospitalized and in the process of recovery.
Erika Vanessa said that on the day of the accident she was with her friend and university classmate, Sebastián Vélez, who unfortunately died. “We were going at 68 to eat fruit salad,” he says. Regarding the exact moment of the fall, he confesses: “I can’t tell you much about how the accident happened, because I honestly don’t remember.”

Accident hypothesis
The version of the accident that is being handled, Erika confirms, would be based on the traffic sketch; Apparently it was caused by a third party. “Apparently a gray truck… a gray car hit our back tire and obviously Sebastián lost control and we went into the void,” Erika said.
17 Serious Fractures
The fall caused devastating damage to the 19-year-old’s body. She details that she fell on her left side, which caused 17 fractures in total, including her foot, hand, elbow, pelvis, sacrum and face.
There are seven surgeries and there are still two pending
Since October 2, Erika has undergone surgery seven times to reconstruct her body. He mentioned the complexity of the injuries: the elbow was reconstructed, the pelvis is already fixed with plates, and two surgeries were performed on the sacrum alone. Two more interventions are still pending: facial surgery (this Wednesday) and foot surgery.

The tragic outcome of Sebastián Vélez
Erika confirmed the sad death of her friend and colleague, Sebastián Vélez, whom she reiterates they were not in a romantic relationship with, they were just friends from university. “Sebastián was taken to Pablo Tobón, but he did pass away pitifully, sadly,” said the young survivor of the serious accident that occurred a month ago.
