Fico Gutiérrez, mayor of Medellín, was forceful, confirming that the Atanasio Girardot stadium will be available for the finals to which DIM or Atlético Nacional qualify in Colombian professional soccer.

Federico Gutiérrez, in a press conference, was clear. “Be very careful that they put the word out there about news that is not true,” he said.

The president added that “some people came out to say that there would be problems if there were finals between Medellín and Nacional, both in the Cup and in the League. That is not true.”

The mayor gave information to the two teams that are preparing for the final of the BetPlay Cup and that are doing very well in the League.

“The stadium is guaranteed for the Antioquia teams in case they go to the finals, which is what we want. We have two great teams, Nacional and Medellín,” added the president.

Fico was clear: “For example, for the Cup scenario, Nacional and Medellín are almost qualified for the Cup final. They each have to win the next match or achieve draws. But it is important that those dates are guaranteed.”

If there will be Atanasio Girardot for the FPC finals: Fico confirmed it

To leave no doubt, the president repeated it. In the event that the two teams go to the final and it is a Paisa Antioquia final in the Cup, it would be December 17 and 21, “the stadium is guaranteed.”

And in the League, where both teams have a very good performance today, they have the city dreaming of a Paisa final.

The League finals would be on December 10 and 13 or 14, and for those two dates, the stadium is also guaranteed.

“So, it is not true that the stadium is committed to other things. The stadium is reserved, especially in case our two teams, Nacional and Medellín, the two teams from the city, qualify for those finals.”

In that sense, the president denied rumors and confirmed that the colossus of the 74 is guaranteed and reserved for the possible finals of the League and the Cup.
