Justice advances in a case that shocked Valle del Cauca. Alexánder Prado was found responsible for multiple crimes, including extortionate kidnapping, violent carnal access, qualified and aggravated robbery, as well as aggravated and attempted extortion, after an investigation that showed his involvement in serious sexual abuse against 14 women between July and November 2022.

According to the evidentiary material presented by the Attorney General’s Office, Alexánder Prado contacted his victims through digital platforms or through deceptions that simulated informal transportation.

Once the women accepted the false offers, they were picked up by motorcycle and taken to remote places in Palmira, Cali, Candelaria and Jamundí. There they were threatened with death, beaten and subjected to sexual abuse.

The sectional prosecutor detailed that the ages of the victims ranged between 20 and 40 years. Some were held hostage for days, and in several cases, Prado Cabezas demanded sums of money ranging from 3 to 300 million pesos in exchange for their release. In addition, on nine occasions he stole the women’s valuables.

The capture of this man was possible thanks to a joint operation of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), the National Army and the Gaula group of the National Police, carried out in December 2022 in the Laureano Gómez neighborhood of Cali. Since then, he has remained deprived of liberty in a penitentiary center.

The sentencing hearing, in which the exact sentence he must serve will be announced, is scheduled for December 16.

This case, in addition to evidencing the seriousness of the crimes committed, highlights the coordination between judicial and security authorities to dismantle criminal networks and protect the victims.
