A guarantee control judge sent to prison two foreign citizens accused of participating in the homicide of a street dweller that occurred in the center of Medellín. The decision was adopted following the request of the Attorney General’s Office, which presented them as allegedly responsible for the violent attack.

The defendants were identified as Alexander Odosgoite and Dani Contreras, who will face charges for the crime of aggravated homicide. According to the investigation, the crime occurred on November 8 in the Prado Centro sector, where the victim, a 61-year-old man, was attacked with a knife while he was sleeping under the subway viaduct.

According to the court report, the aggressor caused a wound in his chest that compromised his heart, causing his death almost immediately.

After the attack, the alleged perpetrators fled on foot, but were located shortly after by units of the National Police in the Manrique neighborhood, while they were traveling in a taxi.

During the procedure, the uniformed officers found a knife and a razor with traces of a blood-like substance, elements that were seized as evidence in the criminal process.

None of the detainees accepted the charges that were brought against them by a prosecutor from the Immediate Reaction Unit (URI). However, the judge considered that there were enough elements to impose a security measure on them in prison, while the investigation progresses.
