The authorities confirmed the capture of Jean Pool, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the murder of Lieutenant Colonel Rafael Granados Rueda, a member of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Brigade No. 3 of the National Army.
The operation was carried out in Jamundí, Valle del Cauca, thanks to intelligence and monitoring work.
The crime occurred in the center of Popayán, when the officer was heading to his residence and was attacked by two armed men who were traveling on a motorcycle. According to the investigation, Jean would have been the one who fired the firearm at the lieutenant colonel.

Although the soldier managed to advance a few meters after the attack, the severity of his injuries caused his death after being transferred to a healthcare center.
During the capture, the authorities seized a revolver and two cell phones, elements that remained in judicial custody and will be analyzed to determine their relationship with the homicide.
The captured person will be presented before a judge and must answer for the crimes of aggravated homicide and illegal possession of firearms.
The Minister of Defense, Pedro Sánchez, highlighted the capture as a key advance in clarifying the crime and assured that operations will continue to find all those responsible.
