Minute30.com .- Violence marred the start of the first weekend of the year in Medellín. In the last minutes of last Friday, January 2, 2026, a 36-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were murdered in a hitman attack in the traditional Prado Centro neighborhood.

The victims were traveling in a taxi when they were intercepted by two armed individuals traveling on a motorcycle. Without saying a word, the attackers shot repeatedly at the occupants and fled in an unknown direction.

The taxi driver, a 36-year-old man, died immediately at the scene. For her part, the 33-year-old woman also lost her life due to the severity of her injuries, when she was being treated at a clinic in the sector.

However, the case has taken a mysterious turn for investigators; Preliminary versions indicate that a third person was traveling inside the vehicle. After the attack, this occupant disappeared from the scene and his whereabouts and state of health are unknown at this time.
