The authorities’ offensive against multicrime in Cali continues to leave results. In an operation carried out by the Metropolitan Police in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office, the criminal structure known as ‘Los Halcones’ was dismantled, accused of committing homicides, thefts and controlling part of the micro-trafficking in the hillside neighborhoods of Cali.

The procedure, which lasted during the early hours of the morning, included 12 simultaneous raids in the sectors of Lleras Camargo and Siloé, in Commune 20, where nine people – five men and four women – were captured. During the investigations, the authorities seized nearly a thousand doses of narcotics, in addition to eight cell phones and utensils used for drug dosing.

According to the investigation, the organization had been operating for several months and would be responsible for four attempted homicides, one theft from a business and another from a home committed this year. According to reports, criminals used street residents to transport and distribute hallucinogenic substances, a practice with which they obtained illegal profits of more than 80 million pesos per month.

General Henry Bello, commander of the Cali Metropolitan Police, explained that this result was possible thanks to a five-month investigation that made it possible to identify the routes, points of sale and the hierarchical structure of the gang.

“With this operation we impacted communes 18 and 20, achieving the capture of people with records of homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime and illegal possession of weapons,” the officer said.

Among those detained is alias ‘Hernán’, the alleged leader of the structure, who, along with his accomplices, was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office. A guarantee control judge imposed an intramural security measure on them for the crimes of attempted homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime, drug trafficking and qualified and aggravated robbery.

For his part, the Secretary of Security and District Justice, Jairo García, highlighted that this coup is part of the strategy that seeks to weaken criminal networks that affect citizen security.

“We have dismantled more than 30 gangs this year. Each capture shows that crime has no refuge in Cali and that the recovery of peace is a constant commitment,” said the official.

According to official figures, more than 400 people have been captured in 2025 for homicide alone in the capital of the Valley, in the midst of an offensive that has strengthened during the last quarter of the year.

With the fall of ‘Los Halcones’, the authorities hope to reduce the rates of violence in the western area of the city, one of the most affected by the presence of structures dedicated to drug trafficking and related crimes.
