A 21-year-old young man was captured by the Aburrá Valley Metropolitan Police after being linked to a homicide that occurred on Monday, November 10, in the Manrique neighborhood, northeast of Medellín.
According to the authorities’ report, the alert originated through a call to the 123 emergency line, in which a lifeless person was reported inside a home in the sector. Upon arriving at the scene, the uniformed officers found the body of a 44-year-old man, who had died in the middle of a fight.
After the report, the patrols began a search and control operation in the area, during which a young man who tried to evade the police procedure was intercepted. When searching him, the agents found 200 grams of marijuana, which is why he was captured in flagrante delicto for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.

However, the case took a turn during the judicial process, when a witness identified him as an alleged participant in the fight that left the 44-year-old man dead. With this new evidence, the young man was formally linked to the homicide investigation.
The detainee was left at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office, which will present him before a guarantee control judge to define his judicial situation.
The authorities assured that they will continue to strengthen control operations and investigations to prevent this type of crimes from going unpunished.
