A 17-year-old teenager was apprehended by the authorities after being identified as the alleged perpetrator of a violent attack in the El Socorro neighborhood, in the town of Kennedy, south of Bogotá.
According to information from the Basic Criminal Investigation Unit, the attack occurred in the middle of an argument between several people on public roads. In the middle of the altercation, the minor allegedly attacked a man with a knife, causing a wound to his neck. The victim had to be immediately taken to a healthcare center, where he received timely medical attention.

The teenager’s arrest was carried out by means of a court order and, after being presented to the competent authorities, his deprivation of liberty was determined in a specialized care center for minors.

This year’s figures show growing concern: the Protection and Special Services Section of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police has arrested 29 minors for homicide and 133 for personal injuries, which shows the participation of adolescents in violent events in the city.
The National Police reiterated its call to citizens to report any situation that affects security and coexistence, through Emergency Line 123.
