A night of terror was experienced last Thursday, January 22, in the center of Bogotá, after two men on a motorcycle threw a grenade at a commercial establishment in the Santa Fe neighborhood.

According to the most recent information provided by the president, the incident left at least seven people injured, three of them due to shrapnel and four more due to stunning due to the blast wave.

However, the situation is still a matter of verification, since a preliminary report from the Bogotá Metropolitan Police speaks of up to 14 injured people, two of them with serious injuries that required surgical intervention. The authorities continue to consolidate the official balance of those affected.

After the attack, the sector was immediately cordoned off by police units, while ambulances and medical personnel attended to the victims.

Teams specialized in explosives carried out technical inspections to rule out the presence of other devices that put the community at risk.

Videos began to circulate on social networks showing the chaos after the explosion: people running, others visibly disoriented, emergency vehicles arriving at the scene and uniformed personnel cordoning off the area while security efforts advanced.

Through his account on X, Mayor Galán assured that investigations are already underway to identify and capture those responsible for the attack. The authorities are analyzing security cameras in the sector and collecting testimonies to clarify the motives for the attack.
