Colombian judo had a demanding but productive debut at the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho–Lima 2025, leaving an immediate mark on the medal table.
The opening day on the VIDENA tatami closed for the national delegation with a balance of two silver medals and one bronze, the product of intense combats that demonstrated the solidity and high competitive level of the country’s athletes in the Peruvian capital.
The silver medals were won by judokas Cindy Mera and Erika Lasso, who made decisive advances to the finals of their respective categories. Mera (63 kg) showed authority by winning in the semifinals, although the Venezuelan A.
Barrios surpassed her in the fight for gold. For his part, Lasso (48 kg) also won the semifinal with force, but could not beat the Panamanian N. Candelo in the dispute for first place, thus signing the second silver medal for Colombia.
The Colombian podium was completed with the valuable bronze medal obtained by María Villalba in the 57 kg.

This Tuesday, the expectation will focus on six athletes who will take action: Duván Nieto (+100 kg), Luisa Bonilla (-70 kg), Brenda Olaya (-78 kg), Daniel Paz (-90 kg), Francisco Balanta (100 kg) and Brigitte Carabalí (+78 kg), who will seek to continue raising the colors of Colombia in Lima.
