The Colombian Mountain Bike (MTB) delegation had an outstanding performance at the 2025 South American Olympic Cross Country Championship (XCO), held in Talcahuano, Chile.
The national riders won a total of four medals, ratifying the progress and consolidation of the country in the discipline at a continental level.
The tricolor flag was flown on the demanding El Tranque circuit, which brought together the elite from more than 10 countries.
Although Argentina dominated the general classification, Colombia demonstrated its strength, especially in the youth categories.
The Colombian medalists in the South American XCO 2025 were with a gold medal, Camilo Hernández Chiquiza in Men Junior.
The silver came from Juan Miguel León in Men’s Cadets and the bronze came thanks to Lina Valeria Sosa Durán in Women Junior.

Additionally, Juan Esteban Donado also won bronze in the Under-23 Men’s category.
The Talcahuano circuit was classified by the organizers as one of the toughest in recent years.
Under dry weather, competitors faced broken and rocky terrain that demanded a combination of power, technique and endurance.
The route combined demanding climbs, technical curves and highly difficult descents, testing each cyclist in this Olympic form of mountain biking.
With these results, Colombia is positioned as a growing force in the regional MTB, highlighting the quality of its young talents.
