Minute30.com .- The president of Naturgas, Luz Stella Murgas, announced that increases in natural gas prices will be recorded in some regions of the country.

Murgas emphasized that the residential sector can rest assured, since in the majority of the country the increases will not exceed the CPI, which are considered regular and normal increases for a public service. The significant increases will be concentrated in vehicular natural gas and in the aforementioned regions.

The increase in gas prices for some users in the country is a direct consequence of the expiration of supply contracts.

Luz Stella Murgas clarified that increases higher than the Consumer Price Index (CPI) will be exclusive to the Coffee Axis and Antioquia. These increases are mainly due to the expiration of contracts between market agents.

Although the higher price of natural gas will begin to apply in January 2026, residential users in the areas of Antioquia and the Coffee Region will see the increase reflected in their bills only until the month of February.

The situation arises after the end of contractual agreements between Natural Gas producers and the companies that offer the service to end users. This expiration forces the renegotiation of prices, which translates into an increase in the rate for the consumer.
