The Colombian Ministry of Sports issued a drastic sanction against Deportivo Pereira FCSA, ordering the suspension of its sports recognition.

The decision was formalized through Resolution 001053 of December 2, 2025, whose notification process to the club began this Tuesday.

This measure calls into question the team’s participation and operation in the professional competitions of 2026.

The Ministry’s determination is based on the verification of non-compliance with labor and tax obligations by the club, as established in article 8 of Law 1445 of 2011.

This ruling highlights the seriousness of the administrative and financial infractions committed by Deportivo Pereira, which violate the current regulations that govern professional sports organizations in the country.

The Ministry of Sports emphasized that the action responds to its unavoidable commitment to transparency, regulatory compliance and, especially, the protection of the labor rights of professional athletes.

By applying the suspension, the entity seeks to guarantee that all clubs operate within the legal framework, ensuring the financial stability and rights of their employees.

Finally, the sports authority reiterated that the process has been carried out under strict compliance with due process, governed by the principles of public administration.
