The Colombian figure skating team added its fourth medal at the World Figure Skating Championships held in Beijing, China.
This Thursday, October 30, the national quartet, made up of Brayan Carreño, Jeshua Folleco, Juan José Pino and Isabella Salinas, won the bronze medal in the demanding Senior Quartet competition.
Their performance titled ‘Vento’ secured them a place on the podium, highlighting the country’s successful participation in Asian territory.
On the international track, the quartet executed an impeccable routine, evaluated by six judges in two key aspects: the elements performed and the components of the program.
The Colombians demonstrated their technical skill by achieving a rating of 31.17 in the executed elements, complemented by 32.13 in the program components.
This resulted in an overall score of 63.30, a significant achievement given that they did not receive any deductions on their submission.
The competition was led by the Vortex team from Spain, which took gold with a score of 69.44 (34.00 in elements and 35.44 in components).
The silver medal went to the Portuguese quartet Rolar4SK8, who achieved a total of 67.18 (33.30 and 34.38, respectively).
Fourth medal for Colombia in the World Figure Skating Championships with historic bronze in Senior Quartets
Despite strong European competition, Colombia’s bronze consolidated its presence among the powers of world figure skating.
This medal in Senior Quartets is added to the three medals previously obtained in the competition.
The coffee delegation celebrated the world title won by Brayan Carreño in the senior dance-only competition, as well as Jeshua Folleco’s silver in the same event, but in the junior branch.
In addition, the first national medal was a bronze for Folleco and María Paula Muñoz in the Senior Couple Dance event, achieved on Friday, October 24.
With the conclusion of the Senior Quartet competition, Colombian participation in the World Championship came to an end this Thursday.
The country placed fourth in the general table, a notable performance in an event dominated by Italy, which led the medal table with a total of 31 medals (11 gold, 12 silver and 8 bronze).
