The arrest by court order was carried out as part of an exhaustive investigation into conduct of high social severity.

At the hearing, the Prosecutor’s Office charged the former official with the crimes of aggravated commercial sexual exploitation with a minor under 18 years of age, pornography with minors under 18, use of minors in the commission of crimes and sexual acts with minors.

The macabre details of the investigation against the former councilor

According to information known in the Eje Cafetero region, the events investigated would have occurred between June and July 2023, and would have extended until July 2025, in an apartment located in the south center of Caldas.

It is presumed that the former councilor offered payments ranging between $180,000 and $500,000 for the collected material. The authorities have revealed that the audiovisual material was supposedly stored in the cloud and transmitted using his cell phone, with the objective of personal consumption and even exchange with third parties abroad.

As part of the capture operation, several electronic devices were seized, including three hard drives, three cell phones, a laptop and a computer, which will be analyzed as material elements of evidence. This digital expertise is expected to reveal the scope of their actions, the identity of other possible victims and the distribution routes of the illegal content.

Despite the strength of the evidence and the indictment of charges, the former councilor did not accept his responsibility at the initial hearing.

The case has generated deep commotion in Caldas, given the political relevance of the person involved and the nature of the crimes that, if found guilty, would constitute one of the most serious effects on public and social order in the area.
