Minute30.com .- A violent event shocked the inhabitants of the Manrique La Cruz sector, in Commune 3 of Medellín, in the last hours. What seemed like a normal workday for a construction official ended in tragedy when he was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon.

The events were recorded at approximately 2:00 pm last Monday, February 2, during their time of rest. According to witnesses, the victim, who was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes, was sitting on some stairs sharing his lunch break with a family member, when he was surprised by a subject who, without saying a word, inflicted multiple wounds on his back and head.

Citizen arrest

According to unofficial versions, the aggressor and the victim, both with judicial records, worked at the same construction site. Apparently, previous differences related to a sum of money would have triggered the attack committed from behind. They found the weapon at the scene.

After seriously injuring the 32-year-old worker, his attacker, a 22-year-old young man from Barrancabermeja (Santander), tried to flee the scene; However, the quick reaction of the community prevented his escape.

Neighbors of the sector detained the subject and, in the midst of indignation, beat him until the Police patrol arrived to make the formal arrest.

The accused was left at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office along with the seized weapon.
