A 45-year-old man, with an extensive criminal history dating back to 2005, was captured again in the last few hours in the Corabastos sector, in the town of Kennedy, west of Bogotá. The subject was wanted by justice for the crime of aggravated and qualified robbery.
The arrest occurred during focused control and prevention operations carried out by the Bogotá Metropolitan Police at the supply center, where the uniformed officers carried out verifications in warehouses, vehicles and areas of high commercial influx.
According to official information, the man was requested on several occasions for his suspicious behavior, which led the police to verify his identity. When checking his background, the system returned a current arrest warrant, so he was immediately transferred for prosecution.
The authorities confirmed that the captured man has five previous arrests for crimes related to aggravated robbery and illegal possession of firearms. His first capture occurred in 2005, when he was caught carrying a revolver in the Guacamayas neighborhood, in the town of San Cristóbal.

Later, in 2011, he was arrested in flagrante delicto after committing a robbery in a commercial establishment in the Patio Bonito sector. In 2019, he was captured again along with three other people while robbing a store in the Britalia neighborhood, north of the capital.

The most recent case before his current arrest occurred in 2023, when the man broke into the door of a truck parked in the Abastos sector, from where he stole cash and other valuables.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the man frequented Corabastos with the aim of breaking into parked vehicles, taking advantage of the fact that the owners were shopping there.
The captured person was left at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, which will define his legal situation in the next few hours.
