What seemed to be the celebration of the recent Colombia Cup title, where Atlético Nacional won against its eternal backyard rival, Independiente Medellín, left a trail of joy in the capital of Antioquia, but also a video that has left thousands with their mouths open because of a flyer. In the midst of the chaos caused by the celebration, a dog became the protagonist of a scene that went from laughter to absolute panic in a matter of seconds, reminding us why gunpowder and alcohol are a combination that borders on the absurd.

The video of chaos: An “artificial canine” in action

The events, recorded on video by passers-by and shared massively on social networks, occurred in one of the main streets of Medellín where the green spot was apparently celebrating the new cup star. A group of fans, in an act of total recklessness, were preparing to light a flyer in the middle of a public road, surrounded by people and vehicles.

Just when the fuse was lit and the device began to emit the sparks prior to takeoff, a “hairy” dog got into the middle of the circle of fans. Before the astonished gaze of those present, the dog was not scared by the fire; On the contrary, he caught the ignited flyer with his snout. What initially caused laughter and shouts of “look at the dog!” quickly transformed into a collective scare when witnesses understood that the animal was carrying a “time bomb” in its teeth.

The outcome: A projectile directly to the “rearguard”

The tension reached its peak when the dog, perhaps sensing the heat or the imminent hiss of the flyer’s engine, released the device just as it was about to be ejected. By a twist of fate (or an involuntary aim of the dog), the flyer was projected horizontally, entering directly into the rear area (rear) of one of the fans who was participating in the burning.

The young man, upon feeling the hot object and the roar of the propulsion in his pants, began a desperate run across the street, trying to remove the flyer before the final explosion occurred. The video cuts right between cries for help and laughter from those who could not believe the accuracy of the accident. According to citizen reports, the fan managed to free himself from the object just before the detonation, avoiding a wound that, given the location and power of the explosive, could have been fatal or caused irreversible damage.

The danger of gunpowder: Medellín does not let its guard down

This incident, although it seems straight out of a black comedy, brings to the table the worrying security situation in the city. Medellín and the metropolitan area have registered a sustained increase in the number of people burned by gunpowder during this December 2025.

The health authorities have been emphatic: the use of flyers, totes and volcanoes is the main cause of admissions to the emergency room on these dates. “What we see in this video is an example of absolute irresponsibility. Not only is human life put at risk, but it involves sentient beings like this dog, which could have died with its snout destroyed,” said a spokesperson for the Ministry of Security.

The Metropolitan Police and the Mayor’s Office of Medellín have reinforced rewards for reporting gunpowder sales sites. “We don’t want more tragedies. The celebration of football must be peaceful. What happened to this fan was a miracle, but the next one might not have the same luck,” the authorities concluded.
