A video circulating on social networks has generated outrage among TransMilenio users in Bogotá. The images captured at one of the stations of the mass transportation system show a strong fight between passengers and the surveillance team, a situation that caused rejection from the citizens and the transportation system itself.

In the video, three users are seen fighting blows with at least three security guards, while several passengers observe the altercation without intervening.

According to the first versions, the confrontation allegedly arose when some citizens tried to enter without paying the fare, which caused the security personnel to react.

“During the development of the support and control tasks, typical of the surveillance team, a physical attack occurred against the guards who intervened to restore order”TransMilenio reported in an official statement.

The situation escalated quickly, making police intervention necessary. The authorities imposed sanctions on the people involved, both those suspected of sneaking in and those who participated in the attack.

TransMilenio SA rejected the acts of violence that occurred inside the station and recalled that no type of aggression will be tolerated in the system.

The entity also reiterated its call to citizens to maintain respect and guarantee peaceful coexistence within public transportation.
