The mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez, launched this Wednesday, December 17, a harsh question regarding the management of the ‘Total Peace’ of the National Government, where he described it as the delivery of the country to criminal structures.

“A few months after the end of the Petro government, the only ones who can consider themselves well served are the ELN, the FARC, the Gulf Clan or any criminal structure.”“said the Paisa president, while expressing his solidarity with the victims of violence in Cauca.

Fico attacked the National Government’s management in terms of security and denounced that while criminal gangs are strengthening, the capabilities of the Public Force have deteriorated under the current administration.

“It is incredible to see how the government handed itself over to the worst criminal structures, how after all that it continues to keep these guys, the worst criminals, as peacekeepers, how they maintain suspended arrest warrants, knowing that they are dedicated to cocaine trafficking, illegal gold, destroying nature, murdering police and soldiers.”he expressed.

“What ideology are they going to have? The ideology of death. They are dedicated to drug trafficking, kidnapping, extortion, theft and harming people.”he stated flatly.

Regarding the recent armed strike by the ELN that has paralyzed 9 departments according to the Army, Gutiérrez was forceful: “They are scoundrels. They say there is an armed strike and look at the damage they have done: they generate terror. At the same time, the ELN and the FARC destroying entire populations. All of that is the last straw.”

On the other hand, Fico took the opportunity to express his solidarity with the families of police officers, soldiers and civilians murdered by criminal groups, and warned that the country has regressed to “the worst times” of violence.

Finally, the mayor made a forceful call to the next government: “The next president of Colombia must recover security, he must recover health, he must recover many issues that have been lost. The challenges that the new government faces are immense.”
