A body found with female characteristics was found last Friday, November 21, in the rural area of Tubacuy, Cundinamarca.
The discovery occurred in the La Vega village, El Totumo farm, as confirmed by Governor Jorge Emilio Rey, who indicated that the recovery took place while the search continues for the members of the Villota Escandón family, missing after the tragedy that occurred last Monday, November 17, when a sudden flood surprised their vehicle on the road between Silvania and Tibacuy.
The body found appeared in a riverside sector of the Panches River. According to the president, the extraction of the body took place around 4:30 pm and it remained in the custody of the CTI for technical inspection procedures and full identification.
So far, the authorities have not confirmed whether it corresponds to any of the people in the family swept away by the strong flood.

Five members of the Villota Escandón family were traveling in the vehicle: Segundo Miguel Villota, 69 years old; Ana Lucía Villota, 45; Teresa Escandón, 65; Sara Gabriela, 25; and the youngest Manuela Sofía, 16.
The latter was found dead on November 19 in a section of the river near the Las Granjas sector. The only survivor was Sara Gabriela, who managed to be rescued and treated at the municipal hospital.
The search operations have been coordinated by the Unified Command Post, with support from Ponalsar, the Disaster Assistance and Prevention Battalion No.80, Fusagasugá and Silvania Firefighters units, and the National Army.
The work has been affected by heavy rains and increased flow, which has forced several work fronts to be suspended and rescheduled.
The department remains on alert for damage to homes, overflows and material damage in sectors such as La Esperanza and El Hato, where there was even a death recorded prior to the emergency that destroyed the family vehicle.
