The early morning of this Monday, January 26, was stained with blood in the north of Bogotá, after a road accident claimed the life of a citizen on the North Highway.
The unfortunate event occurred around 2:00 am at 195th Street, near the San Andresito shopping center, south-north direction.
According to the preliminary report from the traffic authorities, a pedestrian who was trying to cross the road was violently hit by a heavy-duty vehicle that was moving towards the exit of the city.

The impact was so devastating that the victim died instantly on the asphalt, before emergency services could provide first aid.
The Ministry of Mobility confirmed the accident with fatality, immediately deploying criminalistics units to carry out the removal of the body and the collection of evidence to determine if there was excess speed on the part of the truck or recklessness on the part of the passer-by.
Until now, the identity of the deceased person remains under the reservation of Forensic Medicine.
Due to judicial inspection work on the road, the corridor that connects Bogotá with the municipality of Chía dawned with a total closure at that point, affecting thousands of drivers and school routes that were starting their day.
It is expected that the crossing will be fully enabled before noon, once the forensic experts’ proceedings are completed.
