The intense rains recorded in Medellín during the last hours have generated multiple emergencies in different sectors of the city, with the greatest impact in Commune 14, El Poblado. Teams from the Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management (DAGRD) and the Official Fire Department of Medellín remain in the affected areas, attending to the reported situations.
As confirmed by Mayor Federico Gutiérrez, the overflow of the La Presidente stream, one of the most important water currents in El Poblado, caused flooding in different points, affecting mobility and motivating authorities to recommend alternative routes while the situation normalizes.
In addition to the flooding, a tree fell on a vehicle on 7th Street, as well as the fall of a wall on 31st Street, which caused damage to several cars parked in the sector. The rapid intervention of emergency agencies made it possible to control the risks and guarantee the safety of the inhabitants.

The mayor called on citizens to remain cautious during the rainy season, especially in vulnerable areas or near ravines and slopes.
Fortunately, so far no injuries have been reported, despite the material damage caused by the downpours. The authorities remain on alert because weather conditions remain unstable and there are sectors susceptible to new incidents.
The district administration reminded the community of the importance of reporting any emergency to line 123, in order to guarantee timely and efficient attention. Meanwhile, risk management teams continue on the ground evaluating and addressing critical points, waiting for rainfall to decrease.
