A prosecutor from the Special Group to Fight Animal Abuse (Gelma) obtained material evidence that demonstrates BARP’s responsibility in the serious damage that caused the death of a dog.
On August 31, 2024, in an establishment in the town of Kennedy, in the southwest of Bogotá (Cundinamarca), the man, without being a veterinarian or being trained, performed surgical procedures on three dogs named ‘Princesa’, ‘Luna’ and ‘Bella’. All three suffered complications as a result of the interventions that undermined their health.
‘Princess’ was in the most critical condition and was subjected to humanitarian euthanasia. Due to these events, Restrepo Parra was charged with the crime of aggravated animal abuse. The charge was not accepted.
