Minute30.com .- General Pedro Arnulfo Sánchez, through an official statement after the Security and Peace Council with the President of the Republic, denounced the degradation of the conflict in the department of Cauca.
The officer placed alarming emphasis on how the dissidents alias “Mordisco” used illegally recruited minors to carry out the recent attack against the population of Buenos Aires.
Minor Combatants: Victims and Victims
The severity of the terrorist attack, which left eight police officers injured and multiple civilian homes destroyed, lies in the composition of the attacking ranks. According to General Sánchez, the dissident drug trafficking cartel not only forcibly recruits children, but forces them to actively participate in acts of barbarism:
Unromanticized tragedy: Minors are victims of forced recruitment, but the criminal group turns them into “illegal minor combatants” and offenders by using them to murder police officers and attack the civilian population.
The warning is clear: if the country does not unite to dismantle this recruitment, Colombia will face criminal groups made up mostly of children, degrading the conflict to extreme levels of dehumanization.
Coca: fuel of violence
The General was emphatic in linking the persistence of illicit crops with the tragedy that Cauca families are experiencing. “Growing coca for illicit purposes is digging one’s own grave,” he stated, pointing out that the economy of drug trafficking is what finances the kidnapping of Colombian children for war.
Reward for alias “Marlon”
Given the critical situation that worries both Vice President Francia Márquez and Governor Octavio Guzmán as well as the entire country, the authorities have prioritized the capture of those responsible.
A reward has been issued for information that leads to the whereabouts of alias “Marlon”, identified as a “deranged and perverse” leader under the orders of “Iván Mordisco”, directly responsible for coordinating these terrorist actions.
