The Attorney General’s Office confirmed the first instance ruling and, consequently, the sanction of dismissal and general disqualification for 10 years imposed on the Police lieutenant (now captain), José Daniel Díaz Domínguez, for the harassment to which he subjected an assistant of the institution.
In a second instance ruling, the Cundinamarca Regional Prosecutor’s Office maintained that on at least two occasions the officer, who also served as station commander in Tocancipá, Cundinamarca, engaged in abusive behavior that included sexual violence.
The Public Ministry highlighted that the process was worked with the corresponding gender approach and following the recommendations given in the law implementation reports.
The control entity highlighted that Díaz Domínguez’s behavior affected the dignity of his victim, by evidencing a deliberate intention to transgress the duties inherent to his position, which is why it definitively classified the disciplinary offense as very serious committed by way of fraud.
